Scalable Capital launches in Italy
Investment platform Scalable Capital sets foot in Italy, its fourth market in Europe. Italian investors will also have access to its newly launched crypto investments. Only last year, Scalable raised 165 million euros for international expansion.
Scalable Capital is a commision-free trading platform that offers investors access to stocks, ETFs, funds and its newly launched crypto investments. The online broker has over 500 thousand clients who have invested more than 6 billion euros on the platform.
Savings plans and crypto
The Italian launch will include savings plans and crypto investing. Auto-investing via the Scalable ‘robo advisor’ is not yet available for Italian investors. However, the company says it will be available soon.
Auto-investing is not yet available in Italy.
“The online broker, with savings plans and crypto is only the beginning”, CEO and co-founder Erik Podzuweit told AltFi. “We aim to roll out our full investment platform to the Italian market. We will make even more services accessible to our Italian clients such as our leading robo advisor.”
4th European launch
Italy is the company’s fourth launch in Europe, after its home country Germany, France, Spain and Austria. Scalable Capital operated in the United Kingdom as well, but dialed back its activities to only B2B technology services at the beginning of 2021.

290 million euros raised to date
German broker Scalable Capital was founded back in 2014. Only last year, Scalable raised 165 million euros from Chinese investor Tencent. The funds were meant for further international expansion and product development. In total, the company has raised 290 million euros to date.
