With Hive5, you can invest in European consumer and business loans. It currently reports an average return of 14.4 percent. We give it a score of 7 in our review. We invested in several loans over multiple years. Payments are proceeding as expected, but regulatory oversight, diversification and a long track record are lacking.

Lightyear is a young online broker where you can invest in stocks and ETFs at low cost. We rate it 7 out of 10. The platform offers commission-free ETF orders, low trading fees and multi-currency accounts to reduce foreign exchange costs. It also supports fractional investing and provides extensive info on stocks and ETFs.

Collin Crowdfund reaches 1.5 billion euros milestone

Dutch crowdfunding platform Collin Crowdfund has recently reached the milestone of 1.5 billion euros in financed loans. We talked to founder Jeroen ter Huurne about the source of these funds: a loyal group of investors. Retail investors still make up about 50 percent of the volume.

Digilo is a young crowdfunding platform focused on business loans secured by real estate. We rate the platform 7 out of 10. It is easy to use and offers a good selection of projects, although the current offering is still limited. As a result, we see Digilo mainly as a useful addition to a diversified crowdfunding portfolio.

Estateguru vs. InRento

Estateguru and InRento are European real estate platforms. InRento focuses on rental properties that generate monthly income. Its track record is positive and the platform is growing quickly, although that may also introduce new risks. Estateguru has a longer track record and larger volume, but also a history of problem loans.

Bondora Go & Grow has a longer track record, but we currently prefer Monefit SmartSaver. The returns are higher, and Vaults allow you to increase them even further.

We rate Monefit SmartSaver a 7.5, mainly because of its ease of use. Flexible balances currently earn yearly returns of 7.5 percent. In addition, the platform offers fixed-term vaults with returns up to 10.52 percent for a 24-month term. Your funds are used by Creditstar to finance consumer loans.

LANDE vs InSoil

LANDE and InSoil are two European platforms for agricultural loans. We currently prefer LANDE, because it has a simpler structure and shows a slightly more stable track record. InSoil sometimes offers higher gross returns and increasingly focuses on green loans and carbon credit projects.

At Lonvest, you invest through an auto-invest model that spreads your deposit across a range of consumer loans. We rate Lonvest a 6 and it is not yet on our list of recommendations. Interest rates are high and it offers multiple regions, but the track record is limited and all loans originate from companies within SpaceCrew Finance Group.

Indemo review

Indemo buys existing real estate loans with payment issues. Returns come from successful recoveries, for example after selling the property. In our review, the platform scores a 7.5: returns can be very high, but are unpredictable. In the meantime, your money is locked and you receive no interest.
