eToro launches recurring investment feature

Trading and investing platform eToro has recently announced that it is launching a recurring investment feature. The feature makes automated, recurring purchases of assets possible at set times. According to the platform, this helps users to contribute to their investment goals in a consistent manner.

eToro is an international multi-asset investment platform. Founded in 2007, it is now one of the most popular platforms that is used worldwide. Users can buy and sell stocks, trade in ETFs, cryptocurrencies or gold and silver. The platform is currently getting ready for an IPO in the United States.

Automated investment plans

As of this week, users in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates can set up recurring investment plans. The recurring investment feature will then periodically buy assets according to that plan. It helps users save time, as they no longer have to manually place these orders.

‘Investments with the recurring investment feature can range from 25 to 5,000 euros’

The new feature is available for trading in stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies. The investment plan can range from 25 euros to a maximum of 5,000 euros per transaction. It also has a limit of 25,000 euros in total transactions in one month.

Recently, eToro surveyed 10,000 investors in 12 countries for its Retail Investor Beat. During that survey, investors shared their main reasons for periodic investments. The main reasons they prefer recurring investments were the ability to consistently invest with affordable amounts (45 percent), as well as the convenience and time savings it offers (41 percent).

‘Mitigating the impact of market volatility’

“The launch of periodic investing is the latest example of eToro’s commitment to expanding its long-term investing offering. The new feature is designed to support investors in mitigating the impact of market volatility by maintaining a consistent investment strategy regardless of market fluctuations. By setting automatic, regular buy orders as part of their budget, investors can structurally contribute to their investment goals”, explained Tuval Chomut, Chief Solutions Officer at eToro.
