HeavyFinance raises €3 million

European investment platform HeavyFinance has raised 3 million euros in a seed funding round. The company will use the capital injection to drive an expansion within Europe. It will also add new sustainable finance options to the platform.

HeavyFinance is a European investment platform. Users can invest in land by investing in mortgage loans to help businesses in farming, forestry and infrastructure. Sustainable agriculture businesses can apply for loans and the platform wants to remove 1 gigaton of CO2 emissions by 2050.

Expansion in Europe

Now, the company announces that it has raised 3 million euros during a seed funding round. The platform wants to use the capital to nearly double its current headcount of 33 staff members over the next 12 months. Currently, the company is operating in Poland, Portugal, Lithuania, Latvia and Bulgaria and it wants to add new markets in the coming year.

‘Important step in the company’s growth’

Additionally, HeavyFinance will enroll 200,000 hectares of regenerative farmland as part of a carbon farming initiative. “After a successful seed round, HeavyFinance is ready to continue its expansion in the European marketplace, delivering sustainable climate investments to even more investors”, said Laimonas Noreika, founder.
