German platforms Zinsbaustein and Wiwin merge

This week, German crowdfunding platforms Zinsbaustein.de and Wiwin announced a full merger. Earlier this year, they already collaborated, but now the merge is official. They want to combine their expertise in real estate and sustainable investing.

This is not the first merger of crowdfunding platforms. In fact, ever since the arrival of the new ECSP licenses, the market has been consolidating. In early 2023, for example, Invesdor (which is active in Austria, Germany and Finland) merged with Dutch sustainable crowdfunding platform Oneplanetcrowd.

‘Continuing path we began with cooperation’

“With this merger, we are consistently continuing the path we began with our cooperation”, explained Matthias Willenbacher, founder and shareholder of Wiwin. “We are creating a platform capable of integrating the major future topics of real estate and the energy transition and offering investors and project owners sound solutions. Our shared goal is to direct capital even more specifically into sustainable projects and thus have a measurable positive impact on our future.”

Zinsbaustein.de was the first German crowdfunding platform to receive the ECSP license in 2023. It has a focus on real estate investing, while Wiwin has an expertise in renewable energies and sustainable startups.

Combined volume of more than 360 million euros

Together, the platforms have over 220 financed projects, with a total volume of more than 360 million euros. This is spread over more than 60,000 investments.

For now, both platforms will continue operating as usual. The technical merger will be implemented gradually, to ensure a user experience without disruptions or restrictions. In the future, the combined platform will offer new features.
