Collin Crowdfund reaches 1.5 billion euros milestone

Dutch crowdfunding platform Collin Crowdfund has recently reached the milestone of 1.5 billion euros in financed loans. We talked to founder Jeroen ter Huurne about the source of these funds: a loyal group of investors. Retail investors still make up about 50 percent of the volume.

Half a billion within 15 months

It took about 11 years to reach the first billion. Fifteen months later, the total has already reached 1.5 billion euros. This puts the platform on track to meet the goal Ter Huurne has mentioned before: to reach 2 billion euros by early 2027.

That ambition was based on the platform’s strong growth in Germany. In April, we already published an interview with the platform about the company’s performance there. In 2025 the platform achieved 95 million euros with campaigns in Germany. Because of that, Ter Huurne was already expecting to reach the 1.5 billion euros in total funded loans by the summer.

60,000 registered investors

Collin Crowdfund’s funds have grown mostly thanks to its active group of investors. It recently reached the milestone of 60,000 registered investors since its launch. Of those, approximately 16,000 accounts made at least one investment in the past year, says Ter Huurne. And over the past three years, about 25,000 investors have been active.

Around 16,000 accounts made at least one investment in the past year

The average return for investors currently stands at 6.17 percent. If we look only at investments made over the past three years, that average is 6.81 percent. On its website, Collin Crowdfund reports that an investor makes an average of about 40 investments. According to Ter Huurne, for investors who have been active over the past three years, that average is about 45 loans.

90% of accounts are retail investors

About 90 percent of all investor accounts are retail investors, although institutional investors invest much larger amounts on average. In terms of the amounts invested, both groups each account for about half of the total investment volume.

Investors can choose campaigns themselves or invest through a fund structure. This week marked the launch of the fourteenth fund. Together, these funds account for about 135 million euros and currently make up about 20 percent of new financing. In addition, 40 percent comes from direct investments by individuals, and the remaining 40 percent from direct investments by businesses.
